TIPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SCAMS

FRAUD AND SCAMS ARE ON THE RISE - PROTECT YOURSELF!

We want to ensure your safety and security. Please be aware of potential scams that may target you via phone, email, or text. Scammers may pose as healthcare providers, insurance agents, or government officials, requesting your personal information or payments.

TIPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF

  • Verify the identity of the caller or sender before sharing any personal information.
  • Do not share your Social Security number, insurance details, or banking information unless you are certain of the recipient's legitimacy.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited calls or messages asking for immediate payments or threatening legal action.

If you have any doubts, please contact our office directly for verification. Stay vigilant and stay safe!

DNA SWAB TESTS, PRESCRIPTION AND MEDICAL SERVICE SCAMS

We have received reports of scams involving DNA swab tests, fraudulent prescriptions and medical services. Scammers may offer discounted medications or fake medical procedures, often requesting payment upfront.

If you receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer and do not recognize the supplier or service, alert your health plan immediately.

SPOOFING PHONE NUMBERS

You may not be able to tell right away if an incoming call is spoofed. Be extremely careful about responding to any request for personal identifying information.

  • Don't answer calls from unknown numbers. If you answer such a call, hang up immediately.
  • If you answer the phone and the caller asks you to hit a button to stop getting the calls, you should just hang up.
  • Scammers often use this trick to identify potential targets.
