PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS FOR MEDICATIONS

Does your medication require Prior Authorization? Read this!

We’re Making Medication Access Easier by partnering with CloudTop Health

We know how important it is for you to start your treatment without unnecessary delays. That’s why our office uses CloudTop Health—a smart, secure platform that helps us handle medication prior authorizations quickly and efficiently.

Instead of being held up by paperwork or phone calls, CloudTop lets us focus on what matters most: getting your prescriptions approved and in your hands sooner. It’s just one of the ways we’re working behind the scenes to support your care and bring a little ease to your day.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Prior Authorization Process

1)  How long does the prior authorization process take?

Generally, it takes up to 72 hours once the paperwork is submitted, however, it can take longer.  If a medication is urgently needed, the insurance plan does have a process for expedited review.

2)  What happens if the Prior Authorization request is denied?

If the prior authorization is denied, your provider will be notified, and they can determine next steps.  Sometimes the decision can be appealed, other times, a different medication may be prescribed.

3)  I received a call from CloudTop that they need my insurance information?  Why didn't your office give them that information to begin with?

As a primary care office, we only collect your health insurance information.  Your prescription coverage could be through a different plan than our office has on file.  If you receive a call from CloudTop, please respond as quickly as possibly so that your prior authorization process is not delayed.

Atorvastatin RECALL

Important Notice: Atorvastatin Recall

We want to inform you that certain lots of Atorvastatin have been voluntarily recalled due to "Failed Dissolution Specifications". If you are currently taking Atorvastatin, please visit the website:  https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/ires/?Event=97639 to search the affected Lot Numbers.

DO NOT abruptly stop taking the medication, since the risk of harm is low. The recall is due to an absorption issue, not due to an impurity or a carcinogen. Contact the pharmacy where you filled your prescription, to discuss a replacement, if needed.
