SCAM ALERTS - take time to educate yourself

TIPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SCAMS

FRAUD AND SCAMS ARE ON THE RISE - PROTECT YOURSELF!

We want to ensure your safety and security. Please be aware of potential scams that may target you via phone, email, or text. Scammers may pose as healthcare providers, insurance agents, or government officials, requesting your personal information or payments.

TIPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF

  •  Verify the identity of the caller or sender before sharing any personal information.
  • Do not share your Social Security number, insurance details, or banking information unless you are certain of the recipient's legitimacy.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited calls or messages asking for immediate payments or threatening legal action.

If you have any doubts, please contact our office directly for verification. Stay vigilant and stay safe!

DNA SWAB TESTS, PRESCRIPTION AND MEDICAL SERVICE SCAMS

We have received reports of scams involving DNA swab tests, fraudulent prescriptions and medical services. Scammers may offer discounted medications or fake medical procedures, often requesting payment upfront.

If you receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer and do not recognize the supplier or service, alert your health plan immediately.

More tips

  • Only fill prescriptions at reputable pharmacies and check their credentials.
  • Avoid purchasing medications from online sources that do not require a prescription.
  • Be wary of unsolicited offers for medical services or products that seem too good to be true.
  • Be wary of giving your Security number, bank accounts or other private information.
  • Be aware of spoofing programs that can change caller ID info.

Atorvastatin RECALL

Important Notice: Atorvastatin Recall

We want to inform you that certain lots of Atorvastatin have been voluntarily recalled due to "Failed Dissolution Specifications". If you are currently taking Atorvastatin, please visit the website:  https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/ires/?Event=97639 to search the affected Lot Numbers.

DO NOT abruptly stop taking the medication, since the risk of harm is low. The recall is due to an absorption issue, not due to an impurity or a carcinogen. Contact the pharmacy where you filled your prescription, to discuss a replacement, if needed.
